United Way of CMC Welcomes Loreen Comstock to the Staff!
Loreen began working with the United Way in August. In her position, she will provide education to the community on such topics as Naloxone for businesses/community partners and Medication Safety for the Elderly, community outreach initiatives, and community engagement activities.
Loreen is a master’s prepared registered nurse who graduated from Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing with a diploma, Bloomsburg State College with a BSN, and Bloomsburg University with an MSN. Loreen collaborated with Eric Dewald (former Executive Director of the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation) to write the first grant application to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency which brought the program to a 4-county area. Ongoing funding and expansion over that 20-year period allow for service to 8-counties with a total capacity of 292 first-time mothers.
From 2019-2021, Loreen served as program manager for Free2BMom, a program for pregnant/parenting moms with opioid use disorder/substance use disorder and their babies.
